Oregon craft workers have been producing Myrtlewood gifts since the early 1900s.
Myrtlewood grows naturally on the Oregon coast from south of Florence to a small part of northern California. Myrtlewood is extremely slow growing, with 80-150 years required to produce a fully grown tree. The popularity of the wood comes from its warmth, extraordinary picturesque grain, and beautiful colors, including touches of silver. As with other fine wood products, Myrtlewood should only be hand washed, with a minimum of soaking.
Your Myrtlewood, given minimal care, will be a treasured family keepsake that will increase its value as the years go by.
